Szmata Syrena operates at the edge of attraction and repulsion. The body is no longer idealized or symbolic — it becomes excessive, exposed, torn. The work confronts shame, gendered language, and the politics of degradation.
Płatki rżnięte examines the proximity between softness and harm. The works balance on the threshold between sensuality and rupture, where gestures associated with care or closeness carry the potential for injury. Petals become both ornamental and wounded — a metaphor for relational vulnerability.

I am searching for the definition of love. In my search, I draw from Polish traditions, family customs, fables, legends, myths, symbols, and my personal memories. Love is all that frightens us and gives us pleasure. The theme of most of my works is intimacy and the accompanying ambivalence.
BORN TO STAND OUT.
As a female artist, I intend to eliminate the imbalance in the way women have been presented by men for centuries: I show myself and other women from a female perspective, from an assertive point of view. I’m fighting with the objectification and sexualisation of women, with the lack of individual women’s perception.
